If you haven’t had a chance to watch Food inc yet, either watch it now or read this review to give you some insight into the ideas and discussions that are featured in the film. You may just put some time aside to watch it.
In my opinion, the movie is valuable to everyone!

There is nothing as inspiring as the start of a new year to reflect, refocus and set meaningful goals.
Last year one of my closest girlfriends and I sat down and planned a joint bucket list – a list of goals we wanted to achieve in 2012. We had a lot of fun throughout the year. breaking out and having new experiences. I’m currently doing the same for 2013.
This year I want to learn a language. I want to use then use this language and travel in 2014, being able to converse – even if it is completely basic.
I want to save. I want to build up a small pool of money for travel, and to contribute to a deposit for a place of my own one day. I almost find that each fortnight I’m challenging myself as to how much I can save… Can I beat last fornight’s saving? Watching it grow is really liberating for me.
I want to love more. I have so many incredible, incredible people in my life. I count myself the luckiest person in the world to have the family, friends and partner that I have. This year instead of focusing and investing time in negative people, or getting stuck in pointless gossip I want to spend more time with these lovely humans, enjoying life and it’s many adventures.
I want to live for the now. I want to learn more. I want to eat healthier and understand more about nutrition. I want to complete random acts of kindness regularly. I want to be the best me that I can possibly be. To date, this year has already been a dream!
For anyone living on or visiting the Gold Coast, we have a suggestion (must add) for your to do list.
I was lucky enough to find THE most indulgent spa treatment centre on the Coast just a couple of weeks ago….
spaQ located in the QT hotel in Surfers Paradise has gone far beyond my expectations and past experiences. Yes, I have had a few spa treatments in my time and this one tops the lot!
The attention to detail is extremely thorough, the ambiance and layout is immaculate and those gowns and waiting room seats.. to die for!
It is really that extra effort that is put into every aspect of your treatment that makes all of the difference. From walking through the door and being greeted with a big smile, the locker and waiting rooms, softest linen and most comfortable furniture, every pulse of the massage, the care taken in the treatment room, to the big thank you as you leave, the wonderful ladies at spaQ have thought through every step and perfected it.
The treatments that I had, and highly recommend are the Coffee & Sea Kelp contour Wrap and the China Bark Mask & Hair Treatment. You will leave with the softest skin and hair you have ever felt.
I am sure any of the treatments that you choose will be divine.
No excuse needed, call spaQ on 07 5584 1108 or visit their website on http://www.qtgoldcoast.com.au/spa-q
If you visit spaQ make sure you tell us how you went by commenting below.

With the secret santa list growing at a rapid rate, I thought it would be timely to list a number of ideas for gifts all under $30.

Have you heard about the amazing benefits of buying organic produce? Well if you haven’t there are many places to find out online. Just search “benefits of organic produce” in Google and you will find an overwhelming amount of information.
Would you drink pesticides from your garden shed? Then why would you eat fresh produce that has been sprayed with chemicals and pesticides? I guess it is just a secondary form of toxins and harmful chemicals that we, in turn, feed ourselves, right?
Ok so this subject is new to me as well, however I have come across two lists called ‘The Dirty Dozen’ and ‘The Clean 15’. See the lists below for a guide on what produce are most commonly sprayed with chemicals and others that are fairly safe.
A big factor for me when buying organic produce is price. We all know organics are more expensive, however this is a good starting point. Focus on buying the produce listed under ‘The Dirty Dozen’ organic in the first instance and start introducing more and more real, organic foods onto your diet as possible.

Everyone seems to be so excited for summer, me included. With the hot weather approaching quickly, what is the first thing I thought of…. Food.
We have created some nice soup recipes through winter. I am on my last batch of soup this week and it was definitely not as satisfying eating soup in out the humid weather today.
I am so looking forward to creating some delicious salads this summer. Get some inspiration from pinterest. One website I found through pinterest is The Diva Dish, a recipe blog with a few really enticing recipes.
Here is a picture from The Diva Dish of a Lemony Kale Salad with a selection of nuts and fruit as toppings.

Now it is time to start experimenting and creating our own.

1. Sass and Bide One Fine Day Necklace
3. Gemma Redux Scalloped Stone Necklace
For me workouts that appeal require very little equipment and can be completed outdoors in the fresh air. I am a newspaper junkie - can’t get enough of them and particularly love mulling over the Body + Soul section. I came across this fantastic work out and knew you would all love it. It combines cardio and strength for one super awesome session.
It is a challenge each time to improve the time you did last. The key is start fast and continue that pace throughout the whole workout. All you need is a skipping rope and a positive attitude (had to throw that corny comment in)!!
What time did you get? Did you like this work out? Dare you to finish with a 2km run instead of 400m… too ambitious??
