This week we love: 9 July 2012

After following the treasure yourself project by Lori Jai, we have decided that it is paramount to be positive and thankful about what you do have. Each week we are going to try and do a segment on the things we love and give you an insight into our lives and some of the things we are grateful for.

1. Training for Bridge to Brisbane with family and friends

I saw in Saturday morning with the In Training run club at New Farm Park, preparing to get started for my first Bridge to Brisbane. Each year I have said I will do the run, although to no avail. This year I will run the 5km Bridge to Brisbane and I am so excited. I was delighted to have my partner Dave, one of my best friends Kate and my mum, Dad and Annie to join me. It was fantastic! We left feeling awesome and could enjoy a wonderful breaky at Cirque on Brunswick St afterward as a reward.

2. Nail polish

I am addicted to nail polish, there is something wonderfully fun, girly and pretty about having elegantly coloured nails. Getting to raid Mum’s magnificent OPI collection this week was a bonus!

3. Retail therapy

Eeek… I did it! I splurged on the “Nicholas Daisy Skirt” that I have been lusting over forever. Due to the joys of eBay I was able to trade a few golden oldies in and use that cash to fund the piece I have been dreaming about. Thank you Green with Envy Boutique.

4. Travel

My partner Dave and I have finally locked in an itinerary for our end of year trip. We are starting in Canada and then travelling through USA, to end up in New York for Christmas. We can not wait to travel together again, I couldn’t ask for a better companion. I believe that travel is one of the most wonderful ways to open your mind and soul up. I’d love to get any recommendations from any of you who have been recently? I also get to go back to my favourite place in the world, Whistler yay!

5. Juices

I re-discovered the magic of a delicious juice this week after walks with my gorgeous friend Catherine. After a big walk around New Farm we went to Quench and got the most delish juices. To ward off germs and increase my fruit and vege intake, I will be indulging over many more of these over the next few weeks. My pick is the Carrot, Apple and Ginger juice…YUM!
